I trained as a Clinical Psychologist in a range of therapeutic models at Nice Sophia-Antipolis University in France. I specialised in adult and child mental health and attended specialist training in working with Families, Groups and Organisations. After completing my training in 2004 I moved to the UK and worked for the NHS predominantly in IAPT services. I completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Royal Holloway University of London in 2010.
I provide evidence based interventions including CBT, Trauma Focussed CBT for PTSD and complex trauma. I specialise in third wave CBT interventions such as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.
During my clinical training, I worked in an Acute Assessment Team and in secure in-patient settings, as part of multidisciplinary teams testing and treating adults and older adults individually and in groups. I worked in physical health services with patients diagnosed with HIV and carried out research in this field. I spent a year in an Oncology Service setting up a psychology service and provided psychological support to patients, their families and the multidisciplinary team. I trained in and provided systemic family therapy in psychiatry and community based settings.
I have 15 years of experience working within the NHS in Primary care and I have contributed to the development of several IAPT services aiming to Improve Access to Psychological Therapy for all client groups including those from minorities and diverse backgrounds. For instance, I worked with organisations in the community to support older adults accessing therapy and facilitated focus groups with older adults and previous service users to inform adaptations of our service to meet the needs of this client group.
I attended specialist CBT supervisors training and supervise and teach staff and contribute to their learning to ensure we provide clients with ethical and evidence based therapy. In 2014 I set up private practise in Surrey and enjoy offering therapy to my clients. I also provide supervision and consultancy to other professionals.
I offer CBT, trauma focused CBT and EMDR for common mental health disorders, PTSD, and complex trauma. I attended training in treating mood disorders (e.g. depression), a range of anxiety disorders (e.g. panic, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder), PTSD and complex trauma. I offer third wave CBT including Mindfulness based interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR. I have expertise in providing systemic interventions for families, couples and services and I provide supervision and consultancy to professionals.
